Art Retreat Days with Susan St.Thomas M.A.

Enjoy a relaxing full day under the giant redwood trees of beautiful Occidental as you explore the healing power of art. Work in the studio and out in the garden as weather permits. Take time to walk in the woods and through the labyrinth. Workshop, lunch and some materials are provided for $95. 10 am to 5 pm. Pre-registration required 10 days prior to event.

Learn new tricks and expand your unique style of painting. Bring new depth and excitement to your painting with pouring, masking and layers of texture. For the continuing student.

Sunday, June 22         Watercolor Collage and Mixed Media

Expand your texture vocabulary as you have fun transforming old paintings and studies into magical creations. Starting with watercolor, add special papers, ink, pictures, stamping, fabric and bits-of-things you have collected, make new combinations and explore unlimited possibilities with color layers. Some materials supplied.

Sunday, July 20              Mandalas – Portals to Creativity

Use the power and beauty of the circle arts to access inner powers. Begin with a collage shield and then design and paint your mandala integrating dream symbols and images of intention. (Independent dream incubation ritual the night before).

Sunday, August 24                   Astrological Mandala

Create your own personal mandala painting from your birth chart. Start with the basics of astrology to understand your chart, then design and paint a symbolic mandala of your chart. Includes a mini reading and materials.

Celebrate the fall with art and ritual. Replenish yourself and find inner balance as the days & nights are equal. Share a labyrinth equinox ceremony to begin, then explore exciting new colors, compositions and techniques. Re-awaken your imagination.
